Hi Everyone !!! Where has the year gone ? it's May already !
I am so excited to join the DT team !!!

This month featured the We R Memory keepers Baby range .
With having two boys , it was a welcome change to Girly it up !
These papers are also Fantastic for All your projects and are not exclusively for your baby creations.

My favorite card  I created features the La - La Land stamp Winter  Marci .
Simply colour her in with the colouring technique of your choice . I prefer Copics as i love the blended effect they offer.
Double matte your image and attach to the front of your card using Zots 3D to give the card dimension.
Finish the front by adding a co- ordinating ribbon.

On the inside I used the Sizzix pop up Floating frames die to give the card a little surprise inside .
Add some co ordinating paper and embellishments.
finish your card off by punching out lace with your favorite Martha Stewart edge punch.

I had a blast creating these cards ! I hope they inspire you to create your own.

Page 2 Girls DT Project- May - Kate

Welcome to May everyone!
I hope the start of the month was a good one for you, nearly half way through the year, I can't believe it!
As the weather is turning cooler here as we are in Autumn, I was pleasantly warmed up being surrounded by such a lovely kit to work with this month with the pretty spring type colours!

I have had a few friends and family have babies this time of year, and I myself, have two beautiful daughters (not being Biased at all!) but my layouts steered clear of baby photos or congratulation cards. The We R Memory Keepers – Baby Mine collection is just perfect for the above projects or you might take inspiration from my following examples.

I love Max Brenner! And thought that the Baby Mine Frame insert was a perfect title for this photo of my babka I had to eat at Max Brenner's. The Doily was perfect as a base on top of my base, and is kind of a representation of food presentation since doily's are quite common in the hospitality industry. I matted my photo on white paper to give it a 'polaroid' view. This is really easy to do as you matt your photo and leave a larger edge at the bottom. The cardstock base looks as though it has orange paint however it is a candy pink and yellow with a bit of white. The green tissue paper adds a great contrast to the colours. I used the Darkroom Door Filmstrip throughout my May projects, by individually cutting the words up.

Materials:
Darkroom Door Filmstrips – Hello Baby (Pink)
Green Tara paper flowers.
We R Memory Keepers – Baby Mine Frame
We R Memory Keepers – Baby Mine patterned paper – Sugar and Spice
We R Memory Keepers – Textured Cardstock – Light Pink
Kaiser Rhinestones ( Champagne)
Pink Paislee Printed Daily Junque Tissue
Paper Doily
Kaiser Texture Stamps
ink
kikki k pen
Kaiser paint
Glimmer mist

and a close up..

When I seen the colours in this kit, I knew I had to scrap this photo that was sitting in my stash.
The Daily Junque Felt Flower is really highly set, and comes on a clip so would be perfect to actually wear as an accessory to an outfit, not just limited to crafting purposes. I trimmed about 5mm off the top of my flower, this will help with storage later on down the track when I am putting it in a sleeve and into my album. It has a similar feel base-wise to the layout above. However with this layout I tried to place my embellishments on a diagonal so your eye follows down the page. I like using my Kaiser Rhinestones to make flourishes leading on from my flowers. I enjoy using my stamps on paper flowers for something unique as well.

Materials:
Darkroom Door Filmstrips – Hello Baby (Pink)
Green Tara paper flowers.
Pink Paislee Daily Junque Felt Flowers
Bloomers trim

I got these rectangular chipboard offcuts in my kit this month and I really wanted to create a mini album!
I did lots of paint, paper, stamping layers on the chipboard then cut patterned paper to size, punched a hole in the corner and added my ring to bind it. I included a couple of photos of my girls in it, and then went through the online dictionary and found definitions for the words on the Darkroom Door Filmstrips I wanted to use to describe my girls. From there I just printed them off using my printer. I stamped my chipboard heart and then inked it. I tied twine on my ring and you know those Lindt chocolate easter bunnies? I saved the bell off mine and added it to the twine for something unique :) I love saving things like that for use later on!!

Page 2 Girls DT Projects - May - Jane

Hi everyone Jane here, I always love receiving these kits to play with, only one thing.....everyone I know is having girls LOL, not to worry I will certainly be ready for when all the baby boys arrive!

My first card I used We R Memory Keepers Baby Mine tags cute boy, a paper doily and the delightful Baby Mine papers, this range makes creating cards a breeze.

With my second card I used one of the medium sized paper doilies as a template and sprayed a yellow shade of Glimmer Mist over the top, I also coloured a Pink Paislee Daily Junque Felt Flower. The leaves I fussy cut from Baby Mine snips and snails paper, same with the verse. I sprinkled Kaisercraft ice blue rhinestones around the leaves to finish it.

This is a quick and easy boy card to make, I fussy cut the feet from the snips and snails paper, layered it on a white circle and a scallop square of blue card, the sentiment is a darkroom doors Filmstrip hello baby blue, these strips have so many wonderful words on them that can be used for LOTS of occasions.
These papers are also fantastic for not only baby cards but any theme. I coloured a chipboard rectangle with VersaMagic sea breeze ink pad and added a spray of the leaves from the snips and snails paper. I added a hello baby filmstrip word, rhinestones and paper flowers. Only a portion of a large paper doily was needed to give the card added interest.
Well I hope these cards have given you some inspiration, thanks for looking!
Happy creating, Jane

SMASH has arrived at Pages 2 Scrap!

We are really excited that SMASH journals have finally arrived at Pages 2 Scrap!

SMASH definition

If you haven't heard of SMASH journals yet, check out this video:

Cool huh?!

The SMASH program is "retro" in that it returns memory keeping to its most basic form, and may be a good introduction for the scrapbooking novice and well as fun for the "life experience enthusiast". The tagline for this program is "for the moments and musings that stick™".

The SMASH program features uniquely designed books called SMASHfolios, each created with a different style aesthetic in mind - Mod, Pretty, Doodle, Retro.

In contrast to what we know in the parper arts industry, think of this as the "unscrapbook" for the person that doesn't have time or says she isn't creative, yet still likes to keep life lists, ideas from magazines, travel tidbits, inspirational quotes, funny things her kids say, cool project ideas and so much more.

The SMASH Folios would make awesome mixed media art journals as well!

IN STORE NOW!

  • Journals - Member's price =  $20.78.
  • Accessories - Member's price = from $3.19.
See you in store soon!
