Happy April Everyone !

This month I got to play with one of the fab new collections from Kaisercraft called " in the attic " . This lovely collection has a real vintage feel with a twist of retro. I love the lime green and red shades that they have teamed with the vintage tones of sepias and chocolates.

This month I incorporated the collection into an art journal. Art journalling is extremely popular right now, it allows you to embrace the inner child that is inside Of us all. Everyone can create an art journal it doesn't matter if you can't draw or paint as there are stamps and collage sheets available to put images on your pages. What I love best about art journalling is there are no mistakes and the way you get lost in the process of creating the pages . Art journal pages are unique to the creator and no two pages are ever the same. So here's how this journal was created.....

I stated with one of the fantastic Dylusions art journal. I love these journals as they have a plain cover for you to create your own unique beginning to your journal . These journal also have lovely thick pages for you to ink and wet to your hearts content , so it is fantastic for watercolour effects and the Dylusions ink sprays.

After crating a background using the Dylusions sprays and various stencils , I then set about using elements of the collection on the pages. I used the 12x12 papers , 12x12 sticker sheet and a packet of collectables to create all of the pages . A black Sharpie, a white gel pen, some other embellishments from your stash and your photos (if you choose) will allow you to build your own journal pages , telling your own unique story.

Here is a look at the pages I created ......

Pages 2 Scrap has a fantastic range of art journalling supplies and even runs art journalling classes. If you would like any help selecting your supplies or booking into a class , just call or pop in and see one of their friendly staff.

Thank you so much for stopping by xxxx

I've got some bright happy layouts to share with you this month using Kaisercraft's new Hopscotch collection available from Pages 2 Scrap!

This is a really cute modern line with plenty of birds, flowers, happy sayings as well as some project-life style accents. I'm yet to begin a Project Life but I sure had fun using all the die cuts and papers in my layouts!

This layout shows some of those gorgeous post-modern flower die cuts, LOVE them!

Next is another little layout of Miss Holly...

Loving all the neutrals paired with bright happy colours! There's many great bits and pieces to add dimension to your page, everything here is from the Hopscotch collection (with the exception of those two Prima flowers).

And another page - I'm not a massive Instagram user although I seem to have snapped a lot of pics over summer so thought I'd try a montage of pics from the last month or two - this grid layout was super easy to put together!

Love the torn 'notepaper' cutouts at the top of this paper. And I even managed some proper journalling :)

It's nice to look back at a number of different events on one layout; normally I scrap one event / day / thing at a time, but I like how this covers some of the little things we did over summer... and big things - like starting school!

Next is a 8.5 x 11" page that I've put together using all the green, aqua and chocolate bits from my kit. I wanted to scrap some pics of my brother Greg's wedding although this collection is probably not quite right for wedding pics... but this one fitted in ok!

My hubby Richard and I were absolutely drenched after baking in the sun throughout the garden ceremony in Newcastle last December... it was 42 DEGREES with NO BREEZE and it didn't cool down much even after the thunderstorm late that night. I was feeling for my brother in his 3 piece suit and new sis-in-law Mel sweltering in her beautiful gown!

Everyone needed to hydrate... let's just say the beer and cider didn't last long!

One last page to share...

I've gone a bit mad and added heaps of stickers and die cut shapes to this one; I couldn't resist doing a bike layout with the cute bike die cuts from this collection.

Again, there's lots of pretty bits and pieces to tuck in and under and add a lot of layers to your page. Kaisercraft's packs of die cuts are always good value!

Hope these pages have given you some inspiration - the Hopscotch collection is available from Pages 2 Scrap along with lots of other wonderful new release goodies!

Stay crafty!
