What a joy to create with this beautiful range of papers! Let's get started shall we?

Card #1 “Happy Valentine’s Day”

Cut Kraft cardstock 5 3/4” x 3 ¾” & stamp Unity Marah Love in Archival Black Ink at the centre top. Trim off the top 1 ¼” of cardstock up to the design. Round the bottom corners & set aside (this is the insert). Cut Pomegranate Splash Bazzill 4” x 9 ½”, score halfway on the long side & fold to make your card base, then round the bottom corners and set aside. Cut MME Love Me ‘Stamped’ paper (words) to 3 7/8” x 3 ¼”, and cut MME Love Me ‘Banners’ (dots) to 3 7/8” x 1 3/8” and round the bottom corners of the dot piece. Cut Pomegranate Splash Bazzill 3 7/8” x 5/8” and stamp ‘happy valentine’s day’ from Darkroom Door All Occasions stamps in Archival Black Ink to the right side of this strip, and edge the top and bottom in black ink also. Trim Martha Stewart Doily to 2 equal pieces and colour with Tattered Rose & Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Attach one to the bottom left edge of the word paper & one to the top left section of the dot paper, then attach the greeting strip evenly over both sections to join them.

Using the insert as a guide (that you prepared earlier), stamp Unity Marah Love over the word paper and trim out that section generously, then use a sewing machine to stitch around the edge & the top and bottom edges of the greeting strip. Place this front panel on the card base and trim the base to match the front panel, leaving a small gap. Adhere front panel to card front, and adhere the Diamante Trim on the left of the greeting panel. Attach the insert to the inside of the card with the stamp protruding through the trimmed front panel section.

Card #2 “Happy Anniversary”

Cut Pomegranate Splash Bazzill to 6” x 8”, score the long side half way, fold and set aside (base). Cut Kraft cardstock to 6” x 4”. Cut MME Love Me ‘Stamped’ paper (vintage images) to 6” x 2 7/8”. Cut Pomegranate Splash Bazzill to 6” x ½” and edge with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Lightly draw a pencil line about 2 ¾” from the base of your Kraft cardstock, then, using this line as a guide, use Frost White Colorbox Ink to stamp the top section of Unity Marah Love repeatedly across the cardstock. Edge the Kraft cardstock with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and machine stitch around the top section (roughly above the line). Drag the Frost White Colorbox Ink across the vintage image paper to lighten the black images and edge with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Attach the pink strip behind the top of this piece leaving about 1/8” protruding, then attach this layer to the bottom of the Kraft cardstock, then machine stitch around the bottom section also. Attach this whole front panel to the card base.

Colour a Martha Steward Doily using Victorian Velvet, Barn Door and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks. Attach the doily and the Crafty Secrets Vintage Cut to the card, and add some Kaisercraft Rhinestones around the doily. Wrap some twine around card front, add a little ribbon & a piece of Blommers Berry coloured Trim. Stamp ‘Happy Anniversary’ from Darkroom Door All Occasions stamps in Vintage Photo Distress Ink on Kraft cardstock, trim out and edge in the same ink and attach to card.

Card #3 “XO I love you”

Cut Raven Bazzill to 4” x 9”, score the long side half way, fold and set aside (base). Cut MME Love Me ‘Doily Banners’ paper (hearts) to 3 7/8” x 4 3/8” and drag the edges generously across Victorian Velvet Distress Ink pad. Cut Pomegranate Splash Bazzill to 2 ½” x 1 ¼”, score the long side half way, fold and corner punch the folded corners. Stamp ‘i love you’ from Darkroom Door Hearts stamps in Black Archival Ink toward the fold side of the tab. Attach tab to the top right of the card base, then attach the heart paper to the front of the card base and sew over where the tab attaches.

Cut out an ‘X’ and ‘O’ from Raven Bazzill and attach to card front (I used a computer font to generate this, but you could easy just hand draw them). Use a black marker to ‘draw’ a stitching line around your letters.

ATC “Love Kiss”

Cut White Bazzill to 2 ½” x 3 ½” and colour using Pumice Stone and Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool. Stamp Unity Marah Love in Pumice Stone Distress Ink on the bottom half (stamp it on scrap paper first to remove some of the intensity of the ink) and stamp it a second time on the top half using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Cut out the Crafty Secrets Vintage Cut and mount it on a small piece of Raven Bazzill and attach to bottom left of ATC. Stamp ‘i love you’ from Darkroom Door All Occasions stamps once in full, and once nearly all off the edge of the ATC using Black Archival Ink. Drag the edges of the ATC across Black Soot Distress Ink pad to finish.

Tag Set

All tags are made the same way.

Use Unity Marah Love stamp and apply your chosen Distress Ink colour with an ink blender tool on Kraft cardstock, then apply some Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges in the same manner. Repeat until you have the desired number of tags. I used a tag shape as a template to ensure all my tags were the same shape. Trim out the tags and around the bottom of the stamped image.

Apply matching Distress ink to a circle of Kraft cardstock and attach to top of tag and punch a hole through the middle. Apply matching Distress Ink to a small piece of Seam Binding by squashing the ink pad to a craft sheet with some spritzes of water, and drying carefully with a heat tool.

We have been creating with WRMK Vintage-T papers and embellishments, and I have come up with 4 cards you might like to have a try at.

Card #1 “Happy Holidays”

Cut Bazzill Admiral 8” x 6” and score and fold at 4” along the 8” side (set aside). Cut a 6” x 4” piece from WRMK Classic Crest. Ink the edges using a blending tool and Weathered Wood and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Now you need to distress the edges using a distressing tool or your fingernail, then stitch a frame around the edges (set aside). Trim the caravan/car from WRMK Graphic Tee to 1 ¼” x 4” & ink the edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

Make a ‘patch’ – trim out a pair of lions from WRMK Graphic Tee & attach it to a piece of WRMK 6x4 (I used the denim blue one) & zig zag around the edges of the lion piece then gently tear our your patch from the surrounding paper (set aside). Stamp ‘happy holidays’ from Darkroom Door All Occasions on the reverse of some White Bazzill in Black Archival Ink & add a hint of colour with Pumice Stone Distress Ink & a blending tool.

Assembly – Attach caravan strip to 6” x 4” piece, approx 1” from the bottom. Trim some ‘stitch’ sticker (WRMK Cardstock Stickers) over the top and bottom edge of the caravan strip. Attach your ‘happy holidays’ tag to the patch, add a Tim Holtz Paper Clip, and attach this combo to the top left of the 6” x 4” piece and then attach the whole 6” x 4” piece to your blue card base.

Card #2 “Carpe Diem”

Cut Bazzill Admiral 8” x 6” and score and fold at 4” along the 8” side (set aside). Cut a 5 15/16” x 3 15/16” piece from WRMK Distressed Jeans. Ink the edges using a blending tool and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks, and gently distress the edges with your fingernail (set aside).

Cut a 2” x 6” strip from WRMK Distressed Jeans (green stripe side), ink the edges using a blending tool with Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress Ink, and gently distress the short edges with your fingernail (set aside). Cut a 2 1/8” x 6” strip from WRMK Argyle Sweater (red stripe side), ink the edges using a blending tool with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink, and gently distress the short edges with your fingernail. Attach the 2” x 6” on top of this strip.

Wrap some twine around the blue 5 15/16” x 3 15/16” layer (secure with double sided tape), then attach the smaller strip in the centre of this layer (over the twine) using 3D tape. Attach the ‘carpe diem’ sticker from WRMK Cardstock Stickers.

Card #3 “Dude You Rock”

Cut WRMK Argyle Sweater (red stripe side) 8” x 6” and score and fold at 4” along the 8” side, and add some Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges of the card front (set aside). Using the same paper, but the argyle side, cut a 5 7/8” x 7 7/8” piece and drag the edges over the Vintage Photo Distress Ink pad, and sew around the edges.

Using Black Archival Ink and Darkroom Door Alphabet Medley stamps, randomly stamp the word ‘dude’ and trim out the letters, dragging the edges along a Forest Moss Distress Ink pad. Attach to top left of argyle card, adding gold brads in between the letters. Cut a small piece of line paper from WRMK 6x4 and round the bottom corners to make it look like note paper, and lightly edge with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.

Stamp ‘you rock’ from WRMK You Rock Stamps in black archival ink on the note paper and attach to bottom right of argyle card. Use the two arrow stickers from WRMK Cardstock Stickers and lightly sand the top of them before attaching to the note paper on the argyle card. Lastly, trim out three surfboards from WRMK Graphic T and attach to bottom left of argyle layer, as well as the surfboard sticker from WRMK Cardstock Stickers, dot outlining the cardstock surfboard.

Card #4 “Basically...... you rock”

Cut Bazzill Raven 8” x 6” and score and fold at 4” along the 8” side (set aside). Cut 3 ½” x 5 ½” WRMK Argyle Sweater (red stripe side), and edge with Fired Brick Distress Ink. Cut Bazzill White to 3 ¼” x 5 ¼”, and, using the smooth side, doodle with a black artline pen or similar a frame around the edges.

Stamp the cassette from WRMK You Rock Stamps using Black Archival Ink once on WRMK Argyle Sweater (red stripe side) and trim out, once on Bazzill White and trim out, once on WRMK Argyle Sweater (argyle side) and trim out the centre part and the bottom part, and once on Bazzill White and trim out the very middle oval section. Layer your trimmed out pieces in the order you cut them, either with double sided tape, 3D tape, or a combination of both and attach this to the centre right of the Bazzill White doodled border piece.

Stamp the quote from WRMK You Rock Stamps on the centre left of the same Bazzill White piece, then attach the white piece to the red 3 ½” x 5 ½” piece, then attach that to your Bazzill Raven card base.

Hi there! Allow me to proudly present... my creations made with the inspiring We Are Memory Keepers range - Vintage T.

I used photos of my daughter Claire taken during a recent park visit. I think they went well with the WRMK papers. I know a lot of scrappers prefer to use black and white photos because they tend to go with any paper colour scheme. I love to use colour photos where I can, I just think it looks a bit more alive.

I deckled the edges of the kraft card stock with a good old fashioned pair of $2 shop fancy edge scissors. I am so retro lol. I mostly scrap in 8.5 x 11 inch so I decided on some Tim Holz Rosette dies to make the Admiral Bazzill flowers. I do have a thing for crepe paper and I added some along the edge. The foil paper strip stands out quite a bit in real life so I thought I would soften it with the blue crepe.

Now for an extra bit of fun... the bitty book.

Some families share a tradition of camping for their holidays. Hmmm we went camping recently but found one of us really didn't like being quite so close to nature. If we could go "GLAMPING", the new glamorous version of camping then both my girls would be happy. My twins are very different... one tom-boy one diva. That's where the idea of this project came from. It's called 'Chalk and Cheese Go Camping'. Most of my scrapping has a bit of wry humour thrown in... oh and the green and yellow plaid paper is called Golf Pants lol. I love that paper companies put some thought into naming their products. The camouflage paper goes really well with camping photos don't you think?

There is a terrific You Tube video on how to make a little mini book out of one sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock. Then it's simply a matter of decorating the mini inside.

Create a Mini Scrapbook

I use YouTube, Google and now Pinterest to find all sorts of scrappy ideas.

I made the pocket from glassine paper. Honestly I end up with some of my ideas going straight into the rubbish bin. Sometimes when I scrap I have to know when to quit on something that isn't working. I used the die, 'Tattered Banners' for this page.

This was one of my favourite parts of the bitty book. On the right hand corner I used the Tim Holz long die "Tattered Gatherings" with glassine paper and Kaisercraft bling.

The binding of this book has been reinforced with paper, just to stop the folded edges from tearing. Then I popped a ribbon around the book. Now these itty bitty books have been around for ages but they are so much fun to make and quick too. They also help to use up all you left over scraps of paper.

Made from the Tim Holz paper and the rosette die with one of his buttons. I love Tim Holz products, can you tell? Anyway that's it for me, I really hope you are able to pop into the shop to see the Design Team projects in real life. They are all so gorgeous and different. Lots of inspiration! Thanks for letting me in to your home to show you these. I'll let myself out, cheers!

Hi everybody!

For my first DT project I decided to make a boys mini album. I thought that the t-shirt papers and the cool retro gamer images would be perfect for a mini for a young boy or teen.

I decided to make my mini look like an old Game Boy unit. I wanted to make it fun and interactive.

The cover is made as you would a shaker card. I have included instructions below:

1. Cut two plain blue Bazzil cardstock pieces to the dimensions of your mini cover. In my case it was 15 cms x 15 cms.

2. Distress the edges of both pieces with vintage photo ink, then glue one of the pieces onto your mini cover.

3. Decide what size you want your “window” to be and Measure in from the edges an equal amount all around and mark with a pencil dot. Mine was 3 cms in from each edge. Make sure all your dots are even before you mark a perfect square (or you could do a rectangle) by joining up the four dots at either corner. Like this:

4. Use a sharp craft knife and a ruler to cut the square out, reserve this piece for use in another project or to make photo mats for this one. Your piece should now look like this:

5. Distress the inside edges where you cut away the square.

6. Cut a piece of see through plastic slightly larger than the window. You could use recycled plastic from some packaging or like I did, some acetate or transparencies.

Use a good glue to glue all around the inner edge (on the wrong side of the piece) and glue the plastic in place. When you turn it over to the right side it should look like a “window” with no rough edges or glue showing.

7. On the wrong side of the window you will need to build a small “dam” to keep the little silver balls (or whatever else you wish to use) in. You will need to use 3D padded tape and cut it into strips to match up all around the edge of the window (where the glue is). Make sure there are no small gaps in there for the little balls to slip through. I have shown the strips in red for illustration purposes.

8. It is OK for the strips to overlap slightly as I have shown so long as the inside of the “dam” you are creating is smooth, even and free of gaps. You will need to cut some strips of the blue Bazzil cardstock the same depth as your “dam” and glue them to the inside edges. This is important for two reasons. 1) It will allow the silver balls to move freely inside the “window” without sticking to the 3D stripping. And 2) It will hide the stripping from view and make the project look more finished.

9. Now take your cover and glue whatever image you wish to appear in your “window” to the right side of the cover. Make sure you line it up dead centre with where the window will be when it is glued on top of the cover. I used a foil edge strip cut in four to make my image. I also added 3D tape to the outside edges to “support” the piece that will be going on top.

10. Now you can place the silver balls inside the “dam” and run good quality glue all around the top edge of your “dam” so you can glue the cover onto it. Make sure the edges match up and that you are gluing the cover right side down onto the dam edge. Allow glue to dry.

Once dry you can turn over your project and watch the silver balls slide all around!

Hi everyone, Jane here
Okay...this is my first DT blog post for Pages2Scrap, so bear with me...

Now I don't know about you but I find it hard to make a boy or a men's card, I don't really have much in the way of products to make them with either!! But YAY my first DT kit had this great range of We R Memory Keepers Vintage 'T' papers, stickers, stamps and a few trinkets from my most favourite range 'Tim Holtz'!! So here are my creations!

MVP card
Now I must admit that I had no idea what MVP meant, I had to ask my friends who I was creating with at the time, 'Most Valuable Player' okay then, that suits my son perfectly as he is always playing on his XBox! I added a distress piece of denim material to match the papers then layered the stickers together, tucked a few arrows and a fleur de lis sticker to extend the design and to add more interest, believe it or not I still have more stickers left on the sheet!!

WOW card
This card is simple as I didn't think the surfer image needed much else, all I did was trim four pieces of the blue camouflage paper in a wavy pattern then distressed the edges, layered them on top of each other to replicate the surf. I cut the word WOW from one of the papers and attach it for the sentiment!

Carpe Diem
Seize the day! The Vintage T embossed tags are all you really need to make a great card, I further decorated the card by using a decorative punch along the top and bottom edges on a strip of the golf pants paper, wrapped white seam binding around it, cut a word from another paper then tied it to the card using one of the fabulous Tim Holtz mini paper clips, these are great for adding attachments!!

Bull Dog Card
I have a nephew who loves surfboards, the beach and has a Bull dog, so this card is perfect for him. The stamp set had this great surfboard image on it, so I stamped it on cream card using a range of Distress Inks, cut them out and lined them up along the bottom of the card. I added a word stripe, an embossed sticker border, white cord and that great bull dog sticker! I also sanded the papers more just to add interest.

Hi Everyone

It's Kate here bringing you my layouts for January featuring the fabulous We R Memory Keeper's range Vintage T. I enjoyed using this versatile and masculine range to showcase some photos of my husband (being a big kid!) and one of my daughter with her Hoola Hoop. It goes to show that these colours featuring predominantly orange, green, and a dark Admiral blue, can be used for any occasion.

A feature of this Vintage T range which was really appealing was the embossed die cut stickers. They add a great 3D effect to compliment your pages, embossed ANYTHING is a great texture to add to your layouts.

I tried to grunge up these pages to really work with the theme of the range, really rocking, fun, vintage 80's feel. I added lots of paint on my pages using Kaisercraft paint and Versacolor inks. Using a black journalling pen, I roughly doodled on my pages, adding a graffiti type feel which was all the rage in the 80's & early 90's.
Using Stazon Ink and Kaiser background stamps, I was able to add depth and dimension to my pages to draw the eye in to the photographs.

The Vintage T foil paper was perfect for cutting out titles. The foil aspect adds dimension to the words, and it was great not having to figure out titles when they have got them printed so well on the patterned paper for you to cut and assemble using foam adhesive.

The Collections tissue paper is something I often use on my layouts, I love how you can cut it to an appropriate size and its subtle and soft enough to add behind any embellishment or on top of any paintwork to make an eye catching addition to your pages.

I was really fond of the Tim Holtz mini paper clips, they are the perfect size to add that touch of metal to your pages and therefore bringing the focus back to the rock and grunge of the 80's era. They were really fun to use. The gold brads, also complimented the mini paper clips.

I grew up on the Central Coast of NSW, and after a brief interlude in Cooma NSW, have been living in the outer suburbs of Newcastle NSW for the past 10 years. I am married (and are small business owners) with two teenage kids (currently one in TAFE and one home schooling). I am thankful for the freedom and time they allow me to create and craft.

I am a craft addict from way back – as a young girl it was knitting and crochet, as a young adult it was tapestry and cross stitch. Some 15 years ago I began dabbling in card making and stamping.In that 15 years, I have also had a go at patchwork, quilting, sewing, and scrapbooking to name a few. About 2 years ago my love of stamping was reignited, along with it a greater love of card making and the discovery of ATC’s. This, along with knitting and crochet, fills most of my ‘spare’ time.

I'm a proud single Mumma to twin girls (who are the subjects of most of my scrapping). I have loved scrapbooking for 14 years. In 2006 I was a Scrapbooking Memories Master and lately I have been trying to improve my photography. I am a slow scrapper compared to most but I will stay up until the wee hours when I am absorbed by a page or project.

It's only just under a month until International Guest Artist Ingvild Bolme comes to our store to teach her amazing scrapbook layout class!

This is a Prima class filled with fun techniques where you will create one layout in Ingvild’s signature style, filled with lots of lovely layers and details! You will hand cut details, distress, and you will have lots of fun doing several techniques which add all “the little extras” to your work.

Vintage Christmas Keepsake with Tarrah McLean

Hello again everyone!!!

Tarrah here again!! Now I know I am getting in early......but I thought I would get you all into the Christmas spirit early by giving you a little sneak peek at a very special class I will be teaching in the lead up to Christmas this year.

The project that we will be making is an Off-The-Page Vintage Christmas project that you will all LOVE. We will be using the all new and BEAUTIFUL Kaisercraft December 25th range of papers and embellishments to create this lovely keepsake for yourself or to give away as a gift to that someone special.

These are the dates the class will be running for September:

Hello everyone!!!! Hope everyone is trying to stay warm!!!

Dawn Lewis is a multimedia artist and designer based on the Central Coast. She is a Copic Certified Designer and is very passionate about teaching others how to use these amazing markers. Dawn has recently had work published in Handmade, Homespun and Fine Art & Decorative painting magazines, and designed exclusively for Semco, Francheville & Milford threads for the last 6 years. She has appeared on Scrap It TV season 3 & 4, most recently with copic marker how-to segments.

Copic 101:

In this class we will be learning about Copic markers and how to use them with stunning results. We will be sharing tips and tricks to give you that polished look to your Copic projects, choosing the right colours, how to fix any mistakes as well as learning how to blend seamlessly. The Perlen Pen is a dimensional gel pen that creates a nicely rounded pearl, without a peak.

You can create transparent pearls with shimmering transparency on light-coloured papers or fabrics and beautiful hologram colours on dark papers or fabrics. Let dry for 6- 8 hours, and before wearing your decorated clothes let the colour dry for another 24 hours.

Candy Rosenberg Workshops!

We are pleased to announce that internationally renowned papercrafter Candy Rosenberg is coming all the way from the USA to teach some mixed media album workshops at our store!

Candy is known for her layering, fussy cutting, inking, and painting. Candy's work can be seen in US and Australian magazines, and Candy is currently on the design team for Graphic 45, Vintage Street Market, Imaginarium Designs, and Scrapbook Adhesives. Candy is a certified educator for Ranger Industries, Tattered Angels, as well as the education co-ordinator for Basically Bare, and is also an endorsed educator for Graphic 45 and Copic Markers. As if all that wasn't enough, she also has her own signature line of Vintage Stamps with The Rubber Cafe, and is a contracted die designer for Spellbinders!

We're hosting our very first open ATC swap, and we've love for you to take part!

The criteria for this swap will be the colours Red, White, and Black, and you must use a metal element somewhere!

If you are interested in playing along, please send an email to store@pages2scrap.com.au by close of business on the 10th of June to sign up.

Here is everything you need to know:

* Please make 9 ATC's. Each ATC must feature all three colours of Red, Black, and White - and feature some sort of meteal element.

* Please make sure that all 9 ATC's are the same - and number them on the back with 1 of 9, 2 of 9 etc.

* You are free to use whichever stamps, embellishments, products etc that you like.

* Please send them in a 9 slot ATC sheet like this one here:

We have plenty of these in store if you need them and they are $1.10 each. (Only 88 cents with your member discount!).

These can be sent flat in a large envelope, or folded in 3 to fit in a smaller envelope. Please make sure if you send them flat that you include some cardboard for support so they don't get crushed in the mail.

Tarrah's Scrap Room

Hi guys, Tarrah here!! I thought since Tracey, Bec and Kim have shared their scrap rooms with you that I would do the same. I didn't do any cleaning up though so you get to see what it looks like ALL the time....its sometimes A LOT worse LOL!!! So I have my room/space in a little corner of our sunroom. Now we have a TINY 2 bedroom house with a sunroom attached but I still manage to keep a space to scrap going. I don't have enough room for too much storage so a lot of things are on the floor etc. I share my room with the Wii, some lounges, a computer and desk, a change table for the bub and some teddy bears that keep me company too LOL!!!

So this photo is looking straight into my space. The window to the right faces east so it gets the morning sun and the other faces north so it gets lots of natural light and I love it. Its beautiful to sit here in winter when the sun is shining and get some warmth. Very cosy.....

Here is a close up of my desk where all the magic happens LOL!!!! As you can see there is just enough room for 1 layout to be be worked on here. Oh and can you see my clever little ribbon curtain in the background there? I have put a broom handle across from here over to the other cupboard and I bought a $2 plastic shower curtain and got the hooks out it. I have then put similarly coloured ribbons together by stapling them onto some cheap white cardstock/paper and then punching a hole into the top so they can all then be put onto the shower curtain hooks. They all now hang in a colour co-ordinated fashion and I love that they aren't just all shoved in a bag or drawer, this also helps them to get the kinks out of them too.

Here is my favourite cupboard that my beautiful Mum gave me. She is a folk artist and does the most AMAZING painting. She has been painting for like 15 years now and loves it just as much as I love scrapbooking.

Its perfect for a bit of storage. There are 12 little drawers to put bits and pieces in plus 3 drawers you can't see underneath these as well. It has one big drawer in the middle, this is where I keep all my stamps and its perfect for them. Below the big drawer is a cupboard that keeps things like laces, dress making patterns, fabrics etc, things I don't use so often as most of the time I can never get the door open as there is always something in front of it stopping it LOL!!!

Thanks for taking a peek into where I do all my creating, even though I don't have a perfect room or much space it suits me and maybe one day I can have a little more room to spread out...I will just keep dreaming and creating!!!!

EZ Mount Offcuts.

Hi everyone!

For those of you that don't know, EZMount is Static Cling Foam that you adhere to the back of red rubber stamp sheets (like the ones from Darkroom Door) before cutting out the images so that they cling to your acrylic blocks for stamping.

I don't know about you, but I have LOTS of EZMount offcuts!

I keep all the bits that I don't use, just in case I buy any smaller unmounted stamps that I can mount with the off cuts.

However, I now have way more offcuts than I will ever have small stamps to use them on! LOL! And I bet I'm not the only one. So let's share some ideas on what to do with them!

Recently I ran out of double sided foam mounting tape, so in a pinch I used a small piece of EZMount. I adhered the sticky side to my embellishment, and then just glued the smooth side down to my project. Worked like a charm! The EZMount is thicker than normal mounting tape, so you get a much more 3D effect. Used in conjunction with other embellishments mounted with normal foam mounting tape, you could also create different depths on your projects! Too cool!

While I was teaching a class recently, one of the ladies mentioned that her daughter used the offcuts to create foam stamp shapes for kids to paint with! What a fabulous idea! Apparently the kids made some awesome Christmas wrapping paper by stamping their shapes with paint onto brown paper. Fantastic!

Bec's Creative Space...

I would like to give you a little tour of my scrap room! Please note that it rarely looks like this!

It usually looks like this! (when it gets this bad! I move to the dining table and then I am forced to clean it!)

I am lucky enough to have a dedicated room, it's not my dream space but it is great for now!

The desk I salvaged from my old job when they demolished an office about 2 years ago and had excess furniture, it was a really good find.

We live in an old farmhouse in Jilliby and my scrap room would have originally been a veranda and the whole room is on a bit of lean - a bit like me! :) with big windows along one wall allowing lots of natural light!

I fill every bit of the shelves with bits and pieces and it is constantly getting moved around!

I love my Copics and my spinner that keeps my inking tools handy.

I have a tub of my favourite non mounted stamps partly because I use them alot and I like to have them within easy reach and partly because I'm too lazy to put the away! :)

I love this idea for your fiddly products like glitter, embossing powder, distress embossing powder, flock, sparkly fluff and hot set powder! I have decanted them all into separate containers and added a spoon. It eliminated the need for a powder tray and it saves soooo much mess! Try it - You will be more inclined to use your powders for smaller projects too!

I like everything to have it's place but unfortunately it is often not in it's place when I need it!

I love my Ink Pads especially my Distress Inks! Which I have labelled

This is probably the only thing I don't enjoy rummaging around in!

I like them organised and easy to get at.

One of my favorite storage ideas is buckets! I love to fossick through them to find just the right thing that I need, whether it's paint, alphas, stamps, ephemera or ribbon I love to dig around in it!

I love old tins and jugs, I keep all sorts of bits and bobs in them. Some times it's organised and sometimes it isn't!

Hi everyone! Sarah here again!

Earlier this week we shared a post about our staff ATC swap. We will soon be featuring an ATC display on our walls in store, so I thought you might like to know a little bit more about them!

ATC stands for Artist Trading Card, and they are mini works of art that you trade and swap with other artists, much like children trade baseball/basketball/football cards.

ATC's are 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches (6cms x 9cms) and can be made from any type of materials you wish! They can be made in either vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) orientation. The sky is the limit for every other aspect of the art!

ATC's have no geographical boundaries - they can be swapped with anyone all over the world!

There is only one main rule for ATC's and that is that they should never be sold - either your own, or ones that you have acquired in a swap.

Some artists get around this rule by creating ACEO's - which are essentially ATC's that artists have specifically created for sale. ACEO stand for "Art Cards, Editions, and Originals". However this practice is often frowned upon by ATC traders.

History:

Miniature works of art created on cards have been around for centuries, however the modern-day concept of ATC's was conceptualised by artist M. Vanci Stirnemann in 1996. In May 1997, Stirnemann held a gallery showing of 1200 cards at an art and text bookstore in Zurich. Those that attended the show were told that if they wanted one of the cards on display then they had to bring in one of their own to swap - and so the artist trading card movement was born. The idea quickly spread across Canada and the USA, and eventually the world! These days online swaps are very popular, and there are an infinite number of online swaps you can take part in.

However it is more common for them to be displayed in 9 pocket sleeves in a folder, like these ones:

Heritage Layout with Sarah Schwerin.

Hi everyone!

I have a scrapbook page class coming up soon so I thought I'd tell you a bit about it!

In this class we will create a single page 12x12" layout to fit 3 photos. The papers and stamps that we will be using from Pink Paislee best suit a heritage or vintage theme, but more modern photos would work just as well. Here's a sneak peek:

We will be using the Cuttlebug to emboss as well as die cut some flower shapes. We'll also be stamping, punching, inking, and distressing!

I'll be showing you how to get the most out of your stamps on your layouts by using them in the background and as custom made embellishments.

Understanding Ink Pads.

Hi everyone! Sarah here!

One of the questions I get asked most often is about the different types of ink pads and what they are used for. There are quite a few different brands and types of inks out there and it can get very confusing. So I thought I'd pop in today to try and demystify some of them for you!

It is important to note that whilst a certain ink pad may fall under a certain category, the way it behaves and it's uses can be very different to others in the same category from other brands. It is always best to read the information on the back of your ink pads, or refer to the manufacturer's websites if you are unsure of what you can use them for.

Pigment Inks:

Choose a pigment ink if you're planning on doing any heat embossing with embossing powders. Pigment inks are thick and take longer to dry which is why they are perfect for embossing with. Pigment inks usually won't dry on metal or acetate - you're best off reading the back of your inkpad to clarify, or just sticking to paper or cardstock. Pigment inks are usually opaque and the ink pad itself is usually soft and spongy. Popular pigment ink brands include Versacolor, VersaMagic, Brilliance, and the Adirondack Pigment inks.

The Adirondack pigment inks are formulated slightly differently to normal pigment inks in that they can be heat set on gloss paper, vellum, shrink plastic, metal and glass.

Opalite inks are also Pigment inks, however they are a reflective interference ink which are best used on dark or black card to show off their pearlescent sheen.

Clear Embossing Inks:

The most popular clear embossing ink is VersaMark.

Versamark is most commonly used for stamping images before heat embossing with embossing powders. However, you can also use it to create watermark images on coloured papers and cardstock. Because the formulation is so sticky, it can also act as a glue for use with chalks and pigment powders such as Perfect Pearls.

There is also a clear embossing ink in the Distress range of Inks from Ranger:

This ink pad can be used in the same was as Versamark, and is formulated to give you the optimum performance when embossing with Distress Embossing Powders.

Distress Inks:

Tim Holtz Distress Inks are a collection of 36 acid-free, non-toxic, fade resistant, water-based dye inks. This means that you can create lots of different techniques using water with your Distress Ink, such as Tim's Wrinkle Free Distress technique. Tim selected the colors and helped develop these inks to produce a realistic, weathered look on paper, photos and decorative fibers. The 2" x 2" pads are made with a higher raised felt for easier use with direct to paper techniques. It is possible to heat emboss with distress inks as well, because they stay wet longer than normal dye inks.

Dye Inks:

Dye inks are quick drying inks that are usually characterised by a raised felt ink pad. They are usually either water based or oil based, and can be made permanent by heat setting with a heat gun. Permanent non-smear inks such as the Archival Ink brand are best to use with Distress inks and any watercolour techniques. Popular brands of dye inks are the Adirondak Dye inks, Kaleidacolor, and the Distress Inks as mentioned above.

Another popular Dye ink is the Memento range of inks. Fast drying and fade resistant, they are the most popular pad used to stamp images to colour with Copic Markers - as they are water based, water resistant, and do not migrate.

StazOn:

Stazon is a quick drying solvent based ink, specifically designed for use on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces like metal, acetate, plastic, acrylic, leather, and glass. Of course, it is also great on normal paper and cardstock. You will find that StazOn inks will stain your rubber and acrylic stamps - and you will only be able to clean it off with a solvent cleaner like the Stazon Remover.

Speacialty Ink Pads:

There are a number of other ink pads that have been created for special purposes, such as glue pads for use with glitter, pearl powders etc, or Castaway ink which once heated gives a bleach effect similar to Batik.

So there you have it! Now if hubby asks you why you have 5 different black ink pads, you can explain to him why! LOL!

Kim's Room

Hi guys. I just wanted to share with you all a small piece of my world at home - my scrapbooking place. My family and I live in a large double storey home, but I have found that this isn't even anywhere near big enough to cater for my two teenaged daughters' needs. As a consequence, my long suffering husband has taken refuge in the garage while the cars live on the street. What does this have to do with my scrapbooking? Well, I have now taken up residence in what used to be the formal lounge/dining room. I am currently battling it out with the kids over which of the bedrooms upstairs I can officially take over, but until that happens I happily make do with my corner. Anyone would think that Simon and I have 6 kids, right? We have 2.

Most of my time is spent between two desks. One has the computer, printer and Silhouette machine on it and the other desk is where I do my scrapbooking and papercrafting. Next to this desk is a large cupboard full of shelves - which I just couldn't live without. I keep all my big supplies in here, including most of my stamps, flowers, mini albums, projects I'm yet to get to and 12x12 papers and cardstock.

On my desk there is a smaller set of shelves against the wall where I keep the things I use all the time. Stuff like Glimmer Mists, Glaze and Glam, Modpodge and Gesso, Darkroom Door stamps, background stamps, watercolour crayons, stamp pads, buttons and metals. On the side I keep my sewing machine, heat tool and vagabond. There are always paint brushes and markers, an exacto knife, paper trimmer and other bits which I like to be able to grab in an instant.

A corner is workable. It's not always the tidiest of places in the house but I somehow manage anyway.

Pages 2 Scrap Staff ATC Swap

Have you ever wondered what an ATC is? Heard people mention them, but never took the plunge? Well, the girls at the shop have been having some fun recently with a swap amongst themselves, and wanted to share. But before I treat you to some fabulous papercrafted eyecandy, a little bit about ATC's.

ATC is a short way of saying "Artist Trading Card". Generally, it is a small piece of art measuring 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", or approximately 6.5cm x 9cm for us metric girls. ATC cards can be created using just about any media you can imagine, from paints to paper, inks to pencil - the sky is the limit!

When a formal swap is organised, each member creates the same number of cards as people in the swap, including themselves. These are then numbered and swapped with other members of the group giving everyone a sample of each others work and artistic style. These are usually numbered, with a description and details on the back of the card. It is a fabulous way to get together with like minded people and enjoy each others work and creative expression.

The theme for our swap was that we had to use the colour BROWN, and we had to include a FLOURISH somewhere on our cards.

Bec used a heat emboss technique to add great texture to her flourish. The natural cracks which occured in the flourish look fantastic. And how about that red stamped sentiment. Just beautiful!

Next is Sarah's sample. Sarah has a superb vintage style, and combined with the current steampunk trend she has created an amazing ATC. The rich coloured background is courtesy of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge - a must have for any inkoholic.

Sue's card is so colourful and cheerful, it reminds me of a sunny spring day - even with the use of brown! Very clever. The stamped lattice background combined with all the tiny punched flowers makes me yearn for the garden. So fun!

Next up is Tarrah McLean's sample. Vintage style lace, grunged tag, a tiny punched butterfly - how sweet is this! Tarrah's layering style is outstanding. She uses this technique to create interest, depth and plenty of texture on her trading card. Just amazing.

Our special guest for this trade was Tara Hearne, and yes you are seeing double! Tara went all out in creating her swap which included a tiny handmade envelope with each card. Tara used lots of technique while creating her card, including heat emboss, stamping, paper layering, fussy cutting - the list goes on. And we were all amazed with the matching envelope - she even used a real wax seal on the back! Thank you for playing along with us Tara - we love your work!

Tracey features a butterfly punched from a vintage book page on her card, adding a tiny paper clip on one wing. Her use of the stamped flourish creates the illusion of movement - so clever! And the depth of colour in her background is wonderful. Match it with a red stamped sentiment and white embossed edging around the card and this is a fabulous ATC.

And lastly, but not least, Kim used modpodge to create a multilayered feel to her card, adding stamped images and paper cutouts to each layer. Love the tiny flowerpot!

Yeah Nathalie is finally here!!. We are so lucky to have Nathalie Kalbach teaching 4 classes over 2 days - 19 April and 27 April.

My Scrap Space...

I just love looking at other people's scrap spaces. I find it very interesting to see what cool ideas people have for the area they scrap in. This is my scrap space. YES I have taken over the dining room!!

We had this great cabinet made for our dining room. It is a fantastic storage unit for my scrap supplies now. One of my favourite storage ideas is the black and white fabric storage boxes from Ikea. They are perfect for storing embossing folders, stamps and dies.

This is one of the units that we sell in the shop. They are a great way to store my paper storage boxes (also sold in the shop). It is amazing just how much you can fit on top of it!!

Hi guys!

Sarah here to tell you about my upcoming "Vintage Flourish" cards class!

Here's a sneak peek:

Included in your kit will be your very own Darkroom Door Flourish Background Stamp PLUS EZ Mount which we will use to create 4 lovely vintage feel cards.

We'll be stamping, inking, embossing, and even cuttlebugging - which all adds to up to lots of fun!

Saturday 2nd April 2011 - 10am - 12pm.

Class cost = $43, which includes your kit and Darkroom Door Flourish Background Stamp!*
If you can't make it on the Saturday, this class will also be repeated on Friday 8th April 2011 - 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Copic 103 - Embellishments with Kim Price

The final instalment to our introduction to Copics classes is here. Having learnt some basic blending and feathering techniques in our first two classes, we now move onto exploring new applications for our copic markers. In this class we will be decorating ordinary embellisments and turning them into something special to coordinate with our projects. We will also be looking at creating some textured effects using every day items that you can find in your home, and demonstrating how this can be applied to a card or scrapbooking layout. This is an exciting must-do class for cardmakers and scrapbookers alike.

In April 2011 we are lucky to have Nathalie Kalbach teaching 4 workshops 2 days - 19 April and 27 April. We are already getting bookings, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Nathalie is a Mixed Media Artist and Scrapbooker. She has her own column with Somerset Memories called “Nathalie’s Studio” and also writes for the German Scrapbooking Print Magazine “ScrapArtZine”. Nathalie is 1 of only 4 Tattered Angels Golden Ambassadors and certified educator and designer. Nathalie has also recently been appointed the Design Team Coordinator for Tattered Angels.

In this Tattered Angels 3 hour workshop Kalbach you will create a unique canvas that will be a wonderful addition to your home decor. You will use Tattered Angels products as Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Chalkboard and Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze and much more. You will learn how to create dimension and texture with Gesso and other fun materials and add visible interesting details with Vintaj Embellishments*. All the techniques can be easily applied to future projects and layouts. This workshop is for everybody who wants to do something out of the box and loves to try something new and playful. All Workshop materials and media will be at the class. A list of tools and some additional supplies that students have to bring will be provided before the workshops. Welcome to Tarrah...

We are so excited to welcome Tarrah McLean to our teaching team at Pages 2 Scrap. Tarrah is a local on the coast and she has a wonderful husband and 2 very cute boys.

Tarrah is a well published scrapbooker. You may have seen her work in both Scrapbooking Memories and Scrap N Art Online Magazine. She was also given an Honourable Mention in Scrapbooking Memories Master 2010 edition for this fantastic double page.

We are looking forward to skills and techniques that Tarrah will bring with her classes. Tarrah will start teaching in April, so look out for it on our timetable.

In this class you will start your Copic Marker journey. You will learn about Copic markers and how to use them with stunning results. We will be sharing tips and tricks to give you that polished look to your copic projects, choosing the right colours, how to fix any mistakes as well as learning how to blend seamlessly. There will be plenty of time to play and perfect your technique with a Copic certified designer on hand to guide and assist where needed. Included in the class fee are two Copic Ciao markers in your choice of colours to add to your collection.

Creating Canvas Flowers – Encore Page Layout

Come and join us for some Prima fun while we learn how to create some fabulous blooms from the new Mist.a.bles range. You will be amazed at how easy it is to create these gorgeous flowers!
